More Powerfuller [04 Nov 2009|04:36pm]

Say, now. The Motorola Droid, for all intents and purposes, IS looking like one hell of an Android phone. Only problem being, it's sort of on the Verizon network, which, in turn, puts it at odds with the SIM chip I have in my G1 with T-Mobile (that is to say, even if I got an unlocked Droid, I wouldn't be able to put it on T-Mobile, as that's GSM). Depressing.

Then again, I'm also seeing rumors about a GSM version of it being called the Motorola Milestone (which, in turn, would imply it very specifically is NOT a Verizon phone). Maybe that'll wind up being the Android Dev Phone 2.

Made alongside real fruit juice [03 Nov 2009|01:55pm]

I've always been quite leery of the phrase "Made with real fruit juice!" on various soft drinks or other, similar "made with" phrases on other respective foods. The way it's worded, doesn't it sound as if it could easily mean "real fruit juice powers the concentrate extraction machines!", or "our chemists drank real fruit juice as they made this!"?

So if I disappear, here's another potential reason why [01 Nov 2009|12:44am]

As a given fact, my apartment complex has a deal with Insight Communications, wherein they subsidize the cable connection so that we all get basic cable cheap. Has always been that way since I've been living here.

Just recently, they further announced a deal wherein they also subsidize the cable modem connection. Curiously, this involves no real discounts, per se; it just tacks the cable modem fee into the apartment rent, and that's it. Not sure why they did it that way, come to think of it.

It should kick in roughly today-ish or so. Seeing as how my Insight email address is still alive, well, and receiving mail (part of said deal was that we lose such services from Insight themselves), I'm starting to wonder if I'm suddenly going to lose my internet connection due to any amount of tomfoolery and procedure mishaps along the way.

Moreso in that they said they were coming around to install cable modems (I questioned this, as those of us with Insight service already have cable modems, and for many of us at least, we own that part of the hardware) and never got to my apartment, nor called to wonder why I wasn't there to answer the door...

And now, from the most recent Jick & Skully Show, they provide you a crossover of H.P. Lovecraft and Pierre de Fermat to give you Lovecraft's Last Theorem: "I have discovered a truly marvellous proof of this, which this margin is too narrow to contain, and which would drive your mind irreversably mad with its incomprehensible multidimensional calculus."

I'm still not over my Ohioitis yet, which is somewhat odd, to say the least, but this may mean this is the first year in quite some time that I won't have a punkin to carve up (sort of don't have the energy to do the carving). Drat.

With any luck, this should all be said and done before KoLumbus in a few weeks. Which is... in Ohio. Hm.

Hang on, Android 2.0 is almost going to be released? Dang. It feels like we didn't get 1.6 all that long ago...
